Delivering fresh starts since 2022

Middleton's still growing into its subdivisions, but it never stopped being a farming town. Whether you're on a quarter-acre lot in Stonehaven or sitting on a few acres along the Boise River, tires have a way of piling up — old sets from a trade-in, work truck casings behind the shop, whatever got tossed in a corner of the barn and forgotten. None of that fits in a trash cart, and most of it doesn't belong in one anyway.

Boise Tire Removal hauls tires out of Middleton properties, from a handful stacked by a driveway near Main St to a full trailer load off a place out toward Highway 44.

Why Curbside Trash Doesn't Cover Tires

Republic Services runs curbside pickup in Middleton, billed through the city, and every household pays for it. Weekly trash doesn't have a can limit, which helps with normal household junk, but tires aren't meant to go in with regular trash. The city's on-request bulky pickup is set up for appliances and other bulky items left out for collection — it's not really built around loose tires.

The one exception is Middleton's Spring Clean-Up, held one week each spring, when the city picks up unlimited trash, bundles, carpet and bulk non-Freon items at no charge. It's worth checking what that program actually takes before you plan around it. It's aimed at general household cleanout, and a stack of tires from a shop or a few vehicles' worth usually needs its own trip.

Where the Tires Actually Go

Canyon County residents' tires generally end up at Pickles Butte Sanitary Landfill — also called the Canyon County Landfill — on Missouri Ave south of Nampa. It's a drive from Middleton, but it's the facility built to take this kind of load. It accepts residential and cleanup waste from county residents, plus construction debris, clean wood, green waste, tires, refrigeration units, batteries and TVs, with several of those carrying their own fee.

What it won't take matters just as much: no driveable vehicles or motor homes, no hazardous waste, no commercial oil, and no waste hauled in from outside the county without approval first. Loads also have to be covered and secured before they roll in — an uncovered load carries its own fee and can be written up as a misdemeanor.

That's part of why sorting a load before it leaves your property matters. Tires get handled and charged differently than wood or shingles, and a mixed load can get flagged at the gate.

  • Up to 15 tires accepted per load, for a fee
  • Clean wood and green waste accepted, each for its own fee
  • Refrigeration units, batteries and TVs accepted
  • No driveable vehicles, motor homes or hazardous waste
  • No out-of-county waste without approval first
  • Loads must be covered and secured before arrival

If tires are piling up on a Middleton property — a handful from the garage or a full load from a bigger cleanout — the simplest move is getting them off the property and sorted correctly the first time.
